Template Mirroring

This feature is ideal for firms that already have a preferred demand letter or medical chronology format and want to preserve that exact structure across all generated documents.

Updated over 2 months ago

Template Mirroring allows you to upload an existing legal document and let the system automatically analyze its structure to create a reusable template. Instead of building your template from scratch, you can mirror your organization’s documents to replicate formatting, section layout, headings, and style.

Where to Find Template Mirroring

  1. Open the Template Builder.

  2. Click + Create Template in the upper right hand corner.

  3. Select the Mirroring Template option.

  4. The Template Mirroring interface will appear, displaying upload options and a preview window.

How Template Mirroring Works

1. Upload Your Document

In the Mirroring Template screen, select Click to upload or drag and drop.

You may upload from:

  • Your local device

  • Google Drive

  • Microsoft OneDrive

  • Dropbox

Once your document is attached, it will appear in the upload box.

2. Start the Mirroring Process

Click Start Mirroring.

💡Important: Do not navigate away from the screen while the template is being generated. Leaving the page will cancel the processing.

During this process, the AI analyzes the document’s:

  • Section structure

  • Headings and subheadings

  • Paragraph blocks

  • Signature layout

  • Letterhead placement

  • Fonts and spacing

All personal or case specific information is stripped out, leaving only the structure needed for a clean, reusable template.

3. Review the Mirrored Template

Once processing is complete, you will see a confirmation screen labeled Mirroring Complete.

The right side of the screen will show a preview of the extracted template. Review the structure to ensure it mirrors your original document accurately.

4. Name and Categorize Your Template

In the Template Name field, enter a clear and descriptive name such as:

  • Demand Letter Standard

  • Medical Chronology Template

  • Litigation Summary Draft

Select a category from the dropdown to help organize your templates.

When ready, click Accept and Save.

Editing Your Template After Saving

After saving, you can fully customize the mirrored template using the Template Builder tools.

Editable sections include:

  • Letterhead
Manage the header, firm details, and formatting.

  • Document Sections
Edit or reorder content blocks, insert placeholders, and structure your narrative.

  • Signature
Upload your signature, adjust signature formatting, attorney information, or firm details.

  • Styling
Configure fonts, spacing, alignment, and document-wide formatting.

These adjustments allow you to refine the mirrored structure into a final, firm-approved template.

Managing Template Permissions

Templates can be shared with specific team members or made available to all users.

To manage access:

  1. Select Share Template.

  2. Search for team members to grant permissions individually.

  3. Toggle Public Access to make the template available to everyone in your organization.

  4. Click Update Permissions to save changes.

Templates shared publicly can be viewed and used by all team members for generating documents.

Summary

Template Mirroring provides a fast way to convert your firm’s existing legal documents into reusable templates. By uploading your document, mirroring its structure, naming and categorizing the template, and setting permissions, you can ensure consistent formatting across all generated demand letters, medical chronologies, and other legal documents.
