Video Analysis

Upload video or audio files for AI powered transcription, speaker identification, chapter generation, visual scene analysis, and searchable summaries. Add optional AI context before processing to improve analysis accuracy.

Video Analysis

Video Analysis allows ProPlaintiff.ai to transcribe, summarize, and analyze video and audio evidence. TIFF automatically generates searchable transcripts, identifies speakers, creates chapters, and produces an AI generated summary of the recording to help your team review evidence more efficiently.

Supported file sizes and formats:

Maximum file size: 10 GB per file

Video Formats

  • .mp4

  • .mpg

  • .mov

Audio Formats

  • .mp3

  • .mpg

  • .wav

  • .ogg

  • .m4a

  • .flac

Access Video Analysis

There are two ways to access Video Analysis within a case.

Option 1: From the Main Navigation

  1. Open a case.

  2. Under TIFF Generations, click Video Analysis.

  3. Select the video or audio file you want to analyze.

Option 2: From Case Files

  1. Open a case.

  2. Navigate to Case Files.

  3. Click Upload Files.

  4. Select your video or audio file.

  5. Click Upload Documents.

Uploading a supported video or audio file from Case Files automatically launches the Video Analysis workflow, where you can provide AI context before analysis begins.

Step 1: Pick File

Choose the video or audio file you want to analyze.

You can also upload files directly from:

  • Google Drive

  • Microsoft OneDrive

  • Dropbox

After the upload is complete, the file will begin processing automatically.

If multiple media files exist within the case, select the appropriate recording and click Continue.

Step 2: Add AI Context (Optional)

Before analysis begins, you have the option to provide TIFF with additional context about the recording.

Examples include:

  • Body camera footage

  • Dashcam video

  • Police interview

  • Surveillance footage

  • Deposition recording

  • Medical examination

Providing context helps TIFF better understand:

  • Speaker roles

  • Recording type

  • Background information

  • Audio that may otherwise be unclear

For example:

"Body camera footage of an automotive crash on a busy intersection."

Adding AI context is optional but can improve the quality of the transcript, chapters, speaker identification, and visual analysis.

Click Continue when you're ready.

Step 3: Review

Review your selections before processing.

Confirm:

  • The correct media file has been selected.

  • Any AI context you've entered is accurate.

If everything looks correct, click Analyze Video.

Processing Your Recording

Once analysis begins, TIFF processes the recording in the background.

During processing, TIFF will automatically:

  • Transcribe the recording

  • Identify speakers

  • Generate chapters

  • Analyze visual scenes

  • Create an AI summary

Processing time depends on the size and length of the recording. Larger files may take several minutes to complete.

Review the Results

After processing is complete, you'll have access to several AI generated tools.

AI Summary

The AI Summary provides a high level breakdown of the recording, allowing you to quickly understand what occurred without watching the entire video.

The summary may include:

  • Key events

  • Important conversations

  • Timeline of activity

  • Significant visual observations

  • Notable people, objects, or actions

This gives your team a fast overview before reviewing the full transcript or video.

Transcript

View a searchable transcript complete with:

  • Speaker identification

  • Time stamps

  • Confidence scores

  • Search functionality

You can also export the transcript for use outside of ProPlaintiff.ai.

Chapters

TIFF automatically divides the recording into logical chapters, making longer recordings much easier to navigate.

Each chapter includes:

  • Time range

  • Scene summary

  • Participants

  • Visual observations

  • Key events

Selecting a chapter jumps directly to that portion of the recording.

Video Preview

The Preview tab allows you to watch the recording directly inside ProPlaintiff.ai.

From here you can:

  • Play the recording

  • Pause or seek to any point in the timeline

  • View the transcript alongside the video

  • Jump to specific portions of the recording

šŸ’” Tip Providing a short AI context before analysis, such as "Body camera footage following a motor vehicle accident" or "Deposition of the treating physician," can significantly improve speaker identification, transcript accuracy, chapter generation, and the overall AI summary.
