AI Summary Processing

You may enable or disable AI Summary before uploading each file.

When AI Summary is enabled:

  • The system automatically generates a summary after the document uploads.

  • Media files such as audio or video will be transcribed.

When AI Summary is disabled:

  • The file uploads normally without generating a summary.

  • Media files upload without transcription.

Important: If you choose not to summarize a document during upload, you can generate a summary later from the Case File Viewer.

For more information, see the Generating Case File Summaries article.

The Upload Files window clearly indicates which files have AI Summary enabled before submission.

The Upload Files window shows:

What Indexing Means

Uploaded files are automatically indexed in the background so the AI Paralegal can reference them during:

  • Legal research

  • Demand letter creation

  • Medical chronology generation

  • Case analysis

Indexing does not interrupt your workflow, and the AI can reference files while indexing is still in progress.

After Uploading

Once the upload is complete:

  • Files appear immediately in the Case Files table.

  • You can move files between folders, rename them, or delete them.

  • If AI Summary was not enabled during upload, you may generate a summary later from the Case File Viewer.

  • Indexed files become available for use across all AI powered tools in the case.

Fixing Corrupted or Failed Uploads

In the Case Files table, status indicators confirm whether files uploaded successfully.

  • A green check mark indicates a successful upload.

  • A red clock icon indicates a failed or corrupted upload. If you see a corrupted file indicator:

If you see a corrupted file indicator:

  1. Remove the corrupted file from the Case Files table.

  2. Upload the file again using the Upload Files window.

  3. Once the file re-uploads successfully, rerun the document generation or AI workflow that depends on that file.

Reuploading typically resolves most file corruption or processing issues.
