Case Analysis - Damages

Damages provides a centralized view of all monetary claims and expenses associated with a case. It helps you track, organize, and evaluate financial impact, including medical costs, property damage, and other losses.

Damages are automatically generated using AI and can also be managed manually.

Where to Find Damages

  1. Select a case from the Viewing Case dropdown

  2. Navigate to Case Overview

  3. Click the Damages tab


What the Damages Section Shows

At the top of the page, you will see a summary of total damages, including:

  • Total Damages – Combined value of all damages in the case

  • Medical – Medical related expenses

  • Property – Property damage costs

  • Other – Additional expenses not categorized above

Each category displays both the total dollar amount and the number of entries included.


Damage Entries

Below the summary, damages are organized into individual entries, typically grouped by:

  • Provider

  • Vendor

  • Service type

Each entry includes:

  • Name (e.g., provider or entity)

  • Total associated cost

  • Expandable details (if applicable)


How Damages Are Created

Damages can be generated in two ways:


AI Generated Damages

When you:

  • Upload documents

  • Run Case Analysis

The AI extracts financial data such as:

  • Medical bills

  • Treatment costs

  • Charges and balances

These are automatically organized into the Damages tab.


Manual Damage Entries

You can also add damages manually.

To add a damage entry:

  1. Click Add Damage

  2. Enter the required details

  3. Save

This is useful for:

  • Missing expenses

  • Non-documented costs

  • Adjustments or corrections


Merging Damages

If duplicate or similar entries exist, you can merge them.

To merge damages:

  1. Select multiple entries

  2. Click Merge

  3. Choose which data to keep

This helps ensure your damages are accurate and not overstated.


Filtering Damages

Use the All Types dropdown to filter damages by category, such as:

  • Medical

  • Property

  • Other

This allows you to quickly review specific types of financial data.

  • Case valuation

  • Demand letter preparation

  • Settlement negotiations

  • Financial tracking

Accurate damages directly impact your case outcome and recovery potential.


Best Practices

  • Upload billing records and medical documents early

  • Review AI generated damages for accuracy

  • Merge duplicate entries to avoid double counting

  • Add missing expenses manually when needed

  • Keep damages updated as new information is received
