Adding Custom Ask Tiff Prompts

Create custom Ask Tiff prompt chips to streamline common tasks. Add prompts from Ask Tiff or Settings, define the chip label and prompt instructions, then reorder prompts to control how they appear in the Ask Tiff workspace.

Overview

Custom Ask Tiff prompts allow your firm to create reusable quick-action chips that appear directly beneath the Ask Tiff chat composer. These prompts help standardize common workflows, reduce repetitive typing, and provide faster access to frequently used AI tasks.

Once created, custom prompts appear before ProPlaintiff's default prompts and can be reordered at any time.

Ways to Add a Prompt

You can create a custom prompt in two locations:

Option 1: From Ask Tiff

  1. Open Ask Tiff from the Main Navigation menu.

  2. Click the + button next to the existing prompt chips.

  3. Select Add New Prompt.

The New Prompt window will open.

Option 2: From Settings

  1. Click your profile menu in the bottom-left corner.

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Under the Organization section, click Paralegal Prompts.

  4. Click Add Prompt.

The New Prompt window will open.

Creating a New Prompt

When creating a prompt, you will be asked to provide two pieces of information:

Chip Label

The Chip Label is the text displayed on the quick-action button inside Ask Tiff.

Examples:

  • Demand Letter

  • Medical Summary

  • Create New Case

  • Settlement Analysis

  • Draft Interrogatories

Choose a short, descriptive label that clearly identifies the action.

Prompt Instructions

Enter instructions describing what the AI should do when someone clicks the prompt chip.

Examples:

Demand Letter

"Generate a demand letter using the current case information and uploaded case files."

Medical Summary

"Review all medical records in the case and create a summary of treatment, diagnoses, and damages."

Create New Case

"Create a new case using the information provided and identify any missing intake details."

The instructions entered here will automatically populate the Ask Tiff composer when the prompt is selected.

Saving the Prompt

After completing the Chip Label and Prompt Instructions:

  1. Click Add Prompt.

  2. The prompt will be saved.

  3. The new prompt will immediately appear in the Paralegal Prompts list.

Organization Visibility

Paralegal Prompts are shared across your organization.

When a new prompt is created, it becomes available to all users within your organization and can be accessed from the Ask Tiff workspace. Any changes made to a prompt, including edits, reordering, or deletion, will affect how the prompt appears for all users.

For this reason, we recommend using clear naming conventions and reviewing prompts periodically to ensure they remain useful and relevant to your team's workflows.

Managing Existing Prompts

From the Paralegal Prompts page, you can:

Reorder Prompts

Use the drag handle on the left side of a prompt to move it up or down in the list.

The order shown here determines how prompts appear beneath the Ask Tiff chat field.

Edit a Prompt

Click the edit icon to modify:

  • Chip Label

  • Prompt Instructions

Delete a Prompt

Click the delete icon to permanently remove a prompt.

Deleted prompts are immediately removed from Ask Tiff.

How Prompts Appear in Ask Tiff

Custom prompts appear first beneath the Ask Tiff composer.

If your organization has more prompts than can fit on the screen, additional prompts can be accessed through the prompt browser menu.

Team members will see up to four prompts inline, with additional prompts available from the expanded list.

Best Practices

  • Use short, descriptive chip labels.

  • Create prompts for tasks your team performs frequently.

  • Keep instructions clear and specific.

  • Review prompts periodically to ensure they match current workflows.

  • Place your most-used prompts at the top of the list for easier access.

Summary

Custom Ask Tiff prompts provide quick access to common AI workflows. Create prompts from Ask Tiff or Settings, define what the AI should do, and organize them in the order you want them displayed beneath the Ask Tiff chat composer.
