The Pleadings tool allows you to generate litigation-ready legal pleadings using your case information, selected documents, and a pleading template. After generation, you can review, edit, regenerate, and save your document directly within the ProPlaintiff.ai editor.
Where to Find Pleadings
Select a case from the Viewing Case dropdown.
Under TIFF Generations, click Pleadings.
The Pleadings workflow will open and guide you through each step of generating your document.
Step 1: Choose a Template
Select the pleading template you want to generate.
Available templates may include:
Complaint
Plaintiff's Initial Disclosure Statement
Additional custom pleading templates created by your organization
Click View to review the selected template before generating your document.
Tip: The AI follows your selected template exactly. If formatting or sections are missing, review and update the template before generating the pleading.
Step 2: Choose Whether to Include Citations
Select whether legal citations should be included in your pleading.
Options include:
Include – The AI will reference applicable legal authority where appropriate.
Exclude – Generates the pleading without citations.
Including citations may increase processing time depending on the complexity of your case.
Step 3: Provide AI Guidance (Optional)
Use the AI Guidance field to provide additional drafting instructions.
Examples include:
Include a Negligent Entrustment count.
Focus on punitive damages.
Draft using Arizona pleading standards.
Emphasize permanent injuries.
Add additional causes of action.
Anything entered here is used only for this document generation and supplements your selected template.
Step 4: Select Supporting Documents
Choose the case files the AI should reference while drafting your pleading.
You may:
Select all documents.
Choose only specific documents.
Browse documents by folder.
Search for individual files.
The selected documents provide factual support for the generated pleading.
Tip: Selecting only the documents relevant to your pleading often produces more focused and accurate results.
Step 5: Generate the Pleading
After completing your selections, click Continue to begin generating your pleading.
The AI will analyze:
Case information
Selected documents
Your chosen template
Optional AI guidance
Citation preferences
Generation time varies depending on the number and size of your selected documents.
Reviewing Your Pleading
Once generation is complete, your pleading opens in the integrated document editor.
From here you can:
Edit any text
Modify formatting
Add or remove sections
Update headings
Continue drafting manually
The document editor gives you complete control over your final pleading before saving or downloading it.
Working with Tiff While Editing
The left side of the editor includes the Tiff panel.
You can continue collaborating with Tiff while editing your pleading by asking questions or requesting revisions, such as:
Rewrite a paragraph.
Strengthen an argument.
Add an additional cause of action.
Improve legal analysis.
Expand factual allegations.
Tiff can assist throughout the drafting process without requiring you to leave the editor.
Additional Editor Tools
The editor includes several tools to help manage your pleading.
New Generation
Start a new pleading without leaving the Pleadings workspace.
Past Generations
View previously generated versions of your pleading.
Regenerate
Generate a new version after changing your template, selected documents, citations, or AI guidance.
History
Review previously saved revisions of your document.
Save
Save your current version to the case.
Download
Download your completed pleading for filing or additional editing outside ProPlaintiff.ai.
